Autumn is in the air
The darkness stays longer in the morning as autumn approaches. The smell and chill welcomed us as we started the morning. Gosh I am looking forward to Halloween this year.
Today despite being sore, I will use a pickax to take up grass for a trellis. Hops for beer making are too active on the ranch house. We cemented fence posts to install a trellis for them to grow, while providing privacy for me to garden and not be bothered.
This year we are hoping to make blackberry merlo wine, hard cider, beer, and our yearly blackberry and apple liqueur we sip on before bed. When our children were younger we used to sip on liqueur before bed and drink wine as we smoked pig belly from our pigs to make bacon. We are trying to get back to making our own delicious drinks homemade.
We make our own sodas in the winter. Ginger ale and a Sprite tasting drink made from Douglas Fir needles. No lack of work to get done. Hoping this winter to play some indoor badminton as a family… cats included.
