Painting The Ranch House

Painted the porch again this morning on the homestead until we ran out of paint. The ranch house is Country Gothic theme for the most part.

I looked up the architectural style the county had listed is where I found the house was literally Ranch House Style, so I kept the word ranch house. I then searched recommended colors for the architectural style and was recommended neutrals. We chose gray to set the boundaries since the property has had boundary issues in the past mixed with squatters who seemed kinda like jerks to mom in law from the tracks they left and she left us to sort through. The gray we hoped to quiet the ranch house vibes and give a sense that we wanted to be left alone. With the gray the flowers can scream their gothic beauty loud to be seen.

The black porch we are painting now we are incorporating psychology accents. It gives us a relaxing peace, plus gives the structure a strong feel. The porch used to be white and I felt it was too loud. The black will not attract eyes so much and quiet the presence.

We purchased a paint sprayer and our son who took auto body and is familiar with spraying will deal with the difficult to paint areas.

Right now we are trying to kill Japanese Knotweed. Since we are using chemicals the state recommended to attack this aggressive noxious weed nothing edible can be planted in its place, so I will create a rock garden, ornamental plants and statues to take its place.

The goal of the homestead is partying and peace. We try to be intentional with energy and attention here. No lack of work and creativity.

The red is gothic plus alerts there is a step. Having all white I didn’t like how steps blended together.
