Birthday Week Lessons in Life

This is my birthday week. Birthdays are the Satanic high holiday. I reflect on the years and what I have learned on my birthday. I am in the process of weight loss and I was reflecting back to my teenage era where I was an exercise fanatic. I was hated by my family and was bullied in school. To deal with anger I focused on fitness doing pushups on my fists, stretching, every exercise I could think of. I am now on my 53 year looking for inspiration and I draw from that. Bullying was everyday life at home as well as school before the internet. I just drew strength and creativity despite it in my naivety. There was no google search so good luck. No one cared and you had to make do.

What I have learned is no matter the decision don’t sacrifice happiness. I see some distracted from their blessings looking at others in comparison or competition. Get really good at ignoring what has no purpose in creativity. Get used to being underestimated and misunderstood. Learn to say no even if it takes battle to set healthy boundaries. Know some prefer ignorance and stupidity. Be selective in time and acquaintances. Time is very expensive so be grateful and don’t take it for granted. Some closed doors are detours and blessings. Use caution on anger and observe with a broad mind.

There is so much to learn in life. Even though there are storms keep sailing. The vision after the storm is broader. Sometimes it is disappointing to see the truth and how some people were less than hoped. Some were more deceitful than expected. I was more capable than I gave myself credit. It is alright to not be okay. People don’t have to understand. Most won’t understand or care. When in doubt hire a therapist or journal to see if your subconscious is talking and you are avoiding the answer. I could go on but I will end this post here. Keep going.
