Doing Research

When I was new on the internet one thing people said over and over was to listen more than post. I still listen allot. Sometimes I see a post that gets me researching the nature of the situation and listen what others are saying. I like to research areas to broaden what is going on especially with all the fake news, click bait and scams. Some seem so hungry for attention nowadays. I prefer to be in the audience and enjoy my own audience quietly. It is more entertaining to me.

I get USPS Informed Delivery updates in my email. Before the incoming letters are delivered I look up details on the letter Googling what others are saying about the sender and doing a bit of a background search on the sender.

I set up Google Alerts to see if I am being talked about or if someone is pirating my content. If my content is pirated it is turned into my 3rd party partners for take down notices. One of my 3rd party partners has stepped in once for a copy-write dispute where someone tried to take down one of my videos claiming copy-write violation. Dispute was challenged and I appreciate them for acting on it. I appreciate the partners we work with to provide adult entertainment. Some anti-porn groups are trying to take down content through false reporting on platforms. In my opinion that seems like cult mentality. To be honest in the end it only will bite them in the ass if someone chooses to look deeper and think broader.

Here is the link to Google Alerts. It is a free resource. https://www.google.com/alerts

Even with texts and emails I will research the sender. I will copy and paste onto notes the email address to look for more details on the sender. Copy and paste the link onto notes to look for details on the links. I don’t click through links, only copy and paste.

I even Google Phone numbers. After a talk I might Google more info on the person I talked to. If I get curious I will look deeper to get more of a perspective on a situation. We have heard we should have known better when we didn’t, karma, you deserve…. Ignorance for us was never bliss. We were expected a higher accountability than others and to know more than we did. Insults to us were entertainment and submission to stupid seemed an expectation. Now we stay quiet and listen. Not everything or everyone deserves energy.

Reddit is a good resource for researching. The moderators at times I don’t agree with so I just read quietly.

I will take a news article and search keywords for more details. Makes the topic more interesting since I am easily bored.

I look up different psychology aspects to consider thought at times.

Do you have things you do to research on topics? I love new ideas as long as it is ethical, legal and consensual.
