My Own Beliefs or lack of

I do seem all over on my personal beliefs to someone interested in perhaps picking me apart for hypocrisy and to some extent I get that. I do the same. I probably seem weak to some hard in judgment due to the broadness in my perspective, plus I am not them.

I for a while called myself a Laveyan Satanist until listening to the Church Of Satan podcast Satansplain where the podcaster had harsh opinions on the term Satanist. I did interact in a message board about LaVeyan Satanist and how I should just use the word Satanist because the rest is irrelevant. To some extent I agree while another side that perspective doesn’t work for me. I had to place my own values in perspective.

The truth is while I agree with Anton LaVey teachings I am more agnostic due to my interest in science and the unknown. I do have allot of knowledge about religion, science, history, etc. Anton in one of his books said he would prefer disagreement as long as not mean due to he hates yes people. I respected that in him and understood fully from all the harsh treatment he dealt with. I couldn’t personally align myself to the word Satanist only. There are groups using the word Satanist I want no image of alignment with. The Church of Satan holds trademark and copyright for their beliefs which is needed, I respect that and support them for that. I am not affiliated with the Church of Satan so it is pointless to entertain or hold onto a description I don’t need.

I am ordained and really don’t need a label or covering. I don’t need to be liked or approved of. I appreciate it when it happens, I don’t need it. I am grateful to have read Anton’s writings and encourage others to read his work. I will also continue to read books from those affiliated with the Church of Satan. They are an amazing group of people with amazing minds. I am not in any way kissing their ass, but giving credit where it’s deserved.

I will stay agnostic while Hailing Satan. Satan is my favorite image to display.
