GenX Hard Times

GenX before the internet had to deal with stuff and get through it. My past: I didn’t have family and was homeless teen. Friends bullied to devour me. Suicidal and was told to get over it, I am spoiled and others had it worse and more.

What I learned was, I should have told more people to F off, been more selective about access to me and more self absorbed about myself and totally focused on creating my life.

What changed my life was telling people to F off and deciding to live life on my terms. I started leveling up my life, enjoying my own company and not accepting others opinions as fact. In being selective, I leveled up my life and outcomes. I found quality companionship instead of needy companionship.

Sometimes it isn’t about not being good enough. Sometimes it is about leveling up our life and the crossing paths with others at the right time. I am so thankful in my 50s for not getting what I thought I wanted. I got even better later.

What I did was make a self improvement list including ideal companion in a journal. Read allot of books and watched those I respected and who inspired me. I listened for what was being said and not being said. I looked at myself as a canvas to create, instead of negativity. Some people still try to bully my reputation in secret. The truth is those are not my people, I am not someone they will truly know, and I no longer need to care. Look on the bright side and build.

It does get better. I had to invest in myself to level up. Keep going.
