Difficulties Can Be A Blessing

When I was a widowed single parent things were tough. I didn’t qualify for government assistance other than medical for my child. I was on my own. Thank goodness for food banks, but I had to learn allot of hard lessons about money. One for example: the buy one get one free in the meat section didn’t mean the more expensive cut was the free one. I was very ignorant, naive and dumb on allot of things. I also learned how to create more from less and enjoy it.

In my blog I not only talking about NSFW topics, I want to add things in my life that have meaning. Why not? Even Porno Mags had extra topics outside of sex. My blog is adults only. Kids don’t need to have access to everything and I am not a nurturer type who likes everyone else’s offspring. I am totally enjoying my time kid free and want to continue.

When my life changed after remarrying, I was around a whole new group of people who canned goods, loved to thrift, create thing, the list goes on. I watched and learned. A whole new world opened up to me and I made myself a student. I learned about saving money. My ways to stay healthy and cut costs were no longer stupid. I didn’t need fancy things. I loved learning everything I could.

Recently I learned about making pantry mixes. I bought ingredients in bulk and got started. Once a worker at Walmart asked me if I am baking allot. I said with sugar I make wine, ferment and do allot of things. We used to make our own bacon when our children were small. I would marinate a pork belly then we would put it in the smoker and enjoy a glass of homemade blackberry wine together. The blackberries I picked in our garden. At that time I was practicing modesty when it wasn’t popular and was bullied allot. I learned allot weighing things when it wasn’t popular. Now I am old and just sit back or do something else. No one wants the opinion of a whore they say. No problem. Don’t bother me.

Anyway, Pantry mixes I make ahead of time. When we want something sweet and I feel too lazy to create I can slap things together, put it into the oven and enjoy. When I get busy I just slap the pantry mix in the mixer then in the oven and we have a fresh loaf of bread. I make our condiments and what ever else I can. I try to stay busy reading a new book, sewing, our laundry is hung on the clothes line, weeds get fed to the flocks… I dry herbs for winter and create extracts for winter health. I can always find something to do. I say busy.

I have used Ibotta for years and highly recommend it for rebates on items. Sometimes around the holidays I have gotten free food items on rebate. Check them out using my link.
