Sex When You Are Old
This blog post is based on my experience. Always talk to your doctor or health professional about your care. If you choose to read, read at your own risk.
I wanted to touch on Hormones in this post. Men and women go through a transition later in life where hormones change and can create issues in relationships who have old school values that are like a pendulum swing or their whole relationship centered on sex or self gratification. Some cultures still practice women as a commodity, not a human. For some, love is a sin and too dangerous. For us, our relationship was first built on friendship and we have had to face allot of issues that would probably tear most couples apart. Our brand is monogamy and lifestyle. Gives us room to touch on areas outside the norm of adult content.
I have been dealing with menopause. My menopause was delayed when I used HRT, which could’ve extended my life post hysterectomy. Some get heavily opinionated on pharma and some herbal. We are pro-science having studied broader on the subject and experienced allot of positive from amazing professionals. I am no longer on HRT and have been going through menopause where my sex drive is down and I’m not as moist. Instead of hiding it in our content, we chose to show how we are facing it together.
For Andy, he has been dealing with some low testosterone. He was on Testosterone therapy but chose to come off due to finances, plus it was raising his Cholesterol and he really didn’t want to be on medicine for it. He started using a pump and herbs to help. We increased foreplay through the week and we flirt allot. Low testosterone in men can affect length and girth due to circulation. Arousal can be more difficult. For the G-spot in a woman you only need a couple inches. The challenge with arousal can be faced with foreplay and keeping things fun. Stress can also affect arousal where sex can help stress. Don’t stress about it, play with it (literally and figuratively).
I have heard some justify cheating in a relationship with, “Put out or get out”. For some it is, ‘so what? Get another”. Where is the intimacy? Where is the communication? Is the relationship fun? Great to listen to the village idiot if you choose, but what about if you want to build something together? Do you listen to the vain or are you attracted to more? I am not judging. If you aren’t happy or things are abusive then parting might be your best option, none of my business, and all your choice. I am speaking from my perspective, especially thinking of those who push beliefs and have an opinion. Here I state my beliefs and you don’t have to agree. I hope it helps you though.
A gynecologist or hormone specialist can answer HRT issues for women. I highly suggest a specialist instead of listening to the family doctor who might not understand hormones fully. For men there are HRT specialist available. Both women and men need testosterone, so make sure the specialist does blood tests to watch your organs, hormone levels and blood thickness. Also take the prescribed amount, not what is said on the internet. It is a science and Testosterone can thicken the blood, create blood clots and heart issues. Even Estrogen can lead to blood clots, so talk to your specialist. Too much estrogen in both men and women lead to depression and crying. Too much testosterone can lead to annoyance. Estrogen hormones can also produce side effects like menstruate cramps. Our bodies are complex and it is smart to get to know ourselves and our needs.
Masturbation helped me a little with menopausal sleeplessness and itching. I do use cannabis if it gets too bad. Sometimes with the itchiness I get the water in the shower as hot as I can stand it, and stand under the water to counter any histamines. Chamomile or lemon balm tea to relax is soothing. Migraines I take baths with hot wash cloth on my face, hydrate (baths dehydrate and some migraines are due to dehydration), take aspirin and rest. Always talk to a doctor about migraines to make sure it isn’t due to high blood pressure. I’m just saying what I do because menopause headaches I have dealt with.
It is important for self care during hormone balancing time. Insecurity can happen. Heck, I have been trying to figure out even my hair color and clothing style which is all over the place. We like to counter it with curiosity. Who are we becoming? How can we make this fun? Our older years are all about having fun and creating good vibes. We like to be intentional as much as possible.
In this video we recently added to our store, “It’s A Good Day For Cock” we chose to be open about menopause dryness when I had to pause during sex to add moisture. Things don’t need to be a big deal. Pivot and make it fun. Link to the video is below. Thank you for reading. I do hope it helps.
