We have fun complex conversations around the homestead many might not understand or enjoy. This morning we are pruning heavily a rose bush so I can paint the porch. Son is wanting to clone a rose branch for another garden. He asked if he could use an old wine jug for rooting it and I said yeah, looks like the water in it won’t turn to wine any time soon. (I store extra water in bottles for power outages.) Then he said about cloning himself, would having intercourse with his clone be incest? Then he said was Adam and Eve about incest? I said, I don’t know. Could it have been about masturbation. Afterwards I questioned was the snake really a phallus? How heavily masturbation is called a sin makes the thought entertaining and leads to a complex question and conversation.
